Do your gums ever bleed when you brush your teeth?

Bleeding is a sign of inflammation and/ or infection, so it’s important to seek help if you ever notice blood when you brush your teeth. Your gums are the equivalent of the foundations of a house. Your teeth are held securely in place by bone which is covered by your gum tissue. Every day plaque builds up around your teeth and gums.

The ongoing build-up of plaque and tartar, if left unremoved, can lead to gum disease. This is a worryingly common condition within our population, which can lead to a weakening of the foundations of your teeth and loosening of your teeth, eventually leading to tooth loss if left untreated.

Regular dental hygiene treatments will help to ensure your home’s daily cleaning measures are achieving optimum results by gently removing the calcified tartar that you cannot remove with normal brushing and flossing alone. Just imagine how furred up your kettle at home would get if you didn’t descale it regularly!

We are all individuals, so rather than using a ‘one size fits all’ approach, we will tailor your dental hygiene treatment protocol to your own individual-specific needs. We want to help you achieve long-term oral health with stable teeth and gums. Your appointments will be advised at a frequency and length that is appropriate to your own individual treatment requirements.

Maximum Comfort

Do you ever avoid having hygiene treatment because you have had unpleasant experiences in the past? We value your comfort and work very hard to ensure that your hygiene treatments are as comfortable as possible.

Stain removal

We have gentle ultra-fine polishing systems to help remove any surface stains on your teeth so that your smile stays bright and healthy.

Gum (periodontal) disease treatment

If we find any areas of bone support loss around your teeth, we will let you know and help plan a course of treatment targeting stabilising and treating your gum disease. We know that finding areas of disease early and treating them proactively is the best way to help you hold on to your teeth for as long as possible, so we take a very preventative approach to diagnosing and managing gum disease.
